The principles of Maverick Investor Group are:
Mark Solak, Corporate Broker
- Prior to co-founding Maverick Investor GroupTM, Mark Solak moved over $75 million dollars in residential real estate between 2004 and 2007.
- He has worked on international real estate deals in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean.
- He speaks fluent English, German and Polish.
- He holds international Bachelor's degrees in Marketing, Sales and Business Management.
- He holds a Real Estate Broker's License in the state of Nevada and a Real Estate Sales Associates license in the state of Illinois.
- He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors and the Chicago Association of Realtors.
Valerie Schrock, Partner
- Valerie Schrock worked in the human rights advocacy field and then became a professional real estate investor before co-founding Maverick Investor GroupTM.
- She has purchased primarily residential real estate in markets across the US, including Arizona, Missouri, Florida and Maryland for her personal portfolio.
- She has professional expertise in the fields of Internet marketing, graphic design, web platform architecture, flash media & animation, video production, social networking, and crowd sourcing.
- She has 7 years professional experience in team building and organizational management
- She holds a Bachelors Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Masters Degree in International Relations
- She holds a Real Estate Salesperson license in Nevada.
Matthew Bowles, Partner
- Matthew Bowles worked in the non-profit world and then became a full time real estate investor and entrepreneur before co-founding Maverick Investor GroupTM.
- He personally purchased millions of dollars worth of residential real estate, in various markets across the US for his personal portfolio.
- He has professional expertise in the areas of business building, organizing, advocacy, negotiation, writing and media/communications work.
- He has 7 years experience in national public speaking.
- He has conducted seminars for real estate agents and investors all across the US.
- He holds a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in International Relations and Conflict Resolution.
- He holds a Real Estate Salesperson license in Nevada.
The Story of Maverick Investor Group...
In 2004, while working full time at non-profit organizations for causes they deeply cared about, Matt and Valerie became committed to building their wealth through real estate. As they proceeded to buy properties throughout the country in emerging markets they stumbled upon a key leverage point that enabled them to take it all to the next level: "collective buying power". They found that when they attempted to buy a single property, in a new development for example, they didn’t have very much negotiating power. But when they tried walking in together and offering to buy two properties each (for a total of 4), all of a sudden there was a little flexibility on prices and terms.
As Matt and Valerie's friends in the non-profit world asked them how they were building their wealth so fast with real estate and how they could get in on the action, a light bulb went on. If they coordinate multiple people to buy properties in the same development, they would be able to negotiate special prices and terms that would be substantially better than those available to the individual buyer. They tried it...and it worked! That day they began to imagine the kind of buying power they would have if they could bring 25 or 50 or 100 people!
Matt met Mark In 2005 when Mark sold him over $2 million worth of investment properties in Las Vegas. Matt was blown away by Mark’s customer service; it was the best he had ever seen in any industry. Mark was an extremely successful agent and, while Matt and Valerie had developed a sophisticated understanding of how to "buy" real estate, Mark taught them how the real estate industry was as potentially lucrative for agents and developers/sellers as it was for buyers, if one simple leverage point was exercised: "Agents and developers/sellers needed to serve real estate investors so they could generate rapid repeat business". That was Mark’s secret leverage point that enabled him to move over 75 million dollars in residential real estate by himself in less than 4 years.
Matt, Mark and Valerie saw ambition, tenacity, intellect, honesty, and trustworthiness in each other. With this foundation, they decided to become business partners and began pooling their skills, resources and creative energies to develop a cutting edge business model that would provide unparalleled advantages to real estate investors, real estate developers/sellers and real estate agents.
But that wasn’t enough.
They envisioned real estate as much more than an asset class that was useful for wealth building. The Maverick Vision was that real estate had the potential to be used as a vehicle for radically improving people’s lives and affecting positive change in the world.
The first goal was to empower people (investors, developers/sellers or agents) to use real estate as a vehicle for designing their lifestyle and living their dreams in the present instead of waiting for some future “retirement” date. The second goal was to structure a profit model that would enable people (whether investors, developers/sellers or agents) to build their wealth through real estate such that they could finance their dream lifestyles today while also donating time and money to causes that affect positive change in the world.
What emerged was a cutting edge business model that would use collective buying power to ensure that real estate investors could purchase properties at special prices and terms not available to the public—providing a built-in advantage to ensure they make money when they buy. That same principle would enable developers/sellers to move large quantities of real estate quickly and save money on advertising, marketing and holding costs. The final component was a referral network for real estate agents from all different brokerages, whereby they could invite their clients to private buying opportunities via Webinar, do very little work, and still get paid a full 3% for every closing by one of their buyers. This would enable agents to leverage their time, generate rapid repeat business and secure clients for life.
In 2007, it was ready to launch so Matt, Mark and Valerie all quit their jobs, flew to Las Vegas and, while overlooking the Strip from a rooftop lounge, raised their glasses and announced to the world that Maverick Investor Group was born!
